MY DINOSAUR PAGE - MARX FIGURES PART 3
Today we look at Marx Ankylosaurus, Trachodon, Stegosaurus, and Pterandon. I provide the visual aids.
With this page, we delve deeper into the Marx dinosaur world. We get into the prehistoric mind of Louis Marx. We will alter between fantasy and reality on this wonderful journey into the sublime. We will test the boundaries of our capacities as existential beings. Our minds will travel while our bodies stay put. It will be a wonderful adventure where we are at peace with everything. And we will learn intimately about ourselves in the process.
I'm not quite sure what I just said there. Maybe I am over promising and underdelivering. Well you get to see a bunch of nice dinosaurs for free on my website. That is about all I can quarantee.
The Ankylosaurus figure was part of two mold groups. It was first made in the medium mold group with five other figures : Pterrenodon, Allosaurus, Stegosaurus, Hadrosaurus, and Trachodon. The Ankylosaurus figure with a large circle or mold mark under one of their feet belong to this mold class. Ther ones without it belong to the eight piece revised mold group which had eight all duplicate species figures from three of the other four molds. The last mold - second series, hadn't been invented yet. The next picture shows the feet of figures from both mold groups.
Now we look at the flying reptile, Pteranodon.
Next we look at Marx Stegosaurus. I have a lot of them. They were made in two different molds - medium and revised.
The next two pictures show the difference in the two variations of the Marx Stegosaurus. The Medium grgoup figure has a large circle under its front foot.
Next up is the Trachodon. They renamed them something else a while back. I don't care. They will always be Trachdons to me.
The Hadrosaur is from the medium mold group. It is a duck billed plant eater. It eats duck billed plants.
Here are the Triceratops. They were made from two molds - small moldgroup and revised mold group.
Now we will switch from Triceratops to cover Styracosaurus.
